on so interested parties could go.  This is  a chance for equestrians to   
speak up.  Unfortuntely it is during the week.                             
                                                                           
  Nov. 3,2008 - The California Recreational Trails Committee will hold a   
  public tour and meeting on November 12 and 13th, 2008 in Marin County,   
  California. The committee consists of seven Governor-appointed members   
  representing all portions of the State. They are charged with hearing    
  the concerns and issues of trail users and managers and the committee    
  advises the Director of California State Parks and the Governor's office 
  on trail issues. For more information, visit the website at              
  www.parks.ca.gov/trails.                                                 
                                                                           
  The public tour will be held beginning at 9:15 AM on November 12 at the  
  Pantoll Ranger Station in Mt. Tamalpais State Park at 3801 Panoramic     
  Highway, Mill Valley, CA 94941. Participants will hike to the Easy Grade 
  Trail to discuss the Trail Use Change Process developed by California    
  State Parks. A no-host lunch and presentation on the Tennessee           
  Valley/Manzanita Pathway will be held beginning at 12:30 PM at the       
  Tamalpais Valley Community Center at 203 Marin Avenue, Mill Valley, CA   
  94941. A tour of China Camp State Park multi-use trails will begin at    
  2:45 PM at the Miwok Meadows Day Use Area on North San Pedro Road, San   
  Rafael, CA. Members of the public must provide their own transportation. 
  Please be prepared for hiking and bring water and lunch, if desired.     
                                                                           
  The public meeting will be held beginning at 9:00 AM on November 13 at   
  the Novato Oaks Hotel at 215 Alameda del Prado, Novato, CA 94949. Items  
  addressed will include:                                                  
                                                                           
  * Review of the Draft Legislative Progress Report on the California      
  Recreational Trails Plan                                                 
                                                                           
  * Review of the Central Valley Vision Implementation Draft Plan          
                                                                           
  * Multi-Use Trail Etiquette Guidelines                                   
                                                                           
  * A presentation by the California Coastal Conservancy on their          
  activities related to acquisitions to expand river parkways and          
  greenways                                                                
                                                                           
  Public comment on these and other issues will be heard.
