[RC] competition scratches - rides2far@xxxxxxxx

Hey guys,

I'm kind of fascinated by "Competiton Scratches". It appears some horses &
riders deal with it at every ride and a horse can start a 100 with no sign of
scratches and the next morning have an open oozing case. When I ask it appears
some riders are used to dealing with it. I have never had a horse get anything
like that and can't help but think it's some kind of fungus they have on their
farm that flairs up in the environment of a ride.

Anybody got any input?

Angie
