In places like Wyoming, it would not be an issue.  I'm sure in some  
"less civilized" places like the northeast or CA, there are some laws/ 
regulations involved these days.  You'd have to check with your state  
or county ordinances.  I've also had a vet euthanize a horse, and I  
was very fortunate that he was quite skilled and experienced and it  
was not as bad as I had feared.  Cindy
