[RC] re: 100 milers are disappearing - Cindy Collins

Some of us think the AERC has encouraged it by holding 50 mile championships and LD championships as part of our National Championship. Some of us think an endurance AERC national champion should ONLY be a 100 miler and it should be overall, not divisions. I realize this is not a popular stand to take, but as I've said many times, even if I can never ride another 100 mile ride, I still think it's the ONLY championship mileage for the AERC to honor. Regional awards at all distances are fine if that is a need people have. What can you expect but the demise of 100s when we don't hold it in higher esteem as THE national champion than someone doing a 25 or a 50? Cindy
