I think it depends a lot on where you are. We've had a bunch of rides up
here in the NW that are one 50 mile loop. Typically not just 1 VC (though
these do exist), but more often 2. There's been several this year. I prefer
them, but if the best the RM can do is checks in camp, I'll take it over no
ride at all.

Big loops also depend on an RM who can muster that much trail, handle out
checks, and so on. But then we've got a lot of room, and some of the RMs
have been doing this a very long time. You want a tough ride - come on up
and tackle Renegade or Limestone sometime. I think it would be hard to make
a single loop that long back East.
