Last year, Sheri was overwhelmed with the entries - she expected about 75 or so, I think, and about 150 showed up!  The BLM *almost* didn't let the ride take place, but Sheri's powers of persuasion were great, she basically told them, well, if we don't hold the ride, everyone will just spread out and ride all over the place, anyway.  If we have the ride, they'll be *controlled* ... they agreed to let the ride proceed!  And this year it's a 3 day pioneer, woo hoo!
 
And I sure agree with you, it's always a good idea to pre-register.
