Re: [RC] Owyhee Canyonlands - dk22k

I'll pipe up and congratulate the Teeters and their wonderful volunteers, like
Rick and
Carol Brand, for the spectacular ride. I know it is hard to believe, but
EVERYTHING was
perfect -- the weather, food, trails, volunteers, vets, managers and other
riders -- for
a whole week! I don't think I encountered a sour face or bad word from anyone.

KUDDOS to all and many thanks for all you do. I'll be back...

Denise and Driffter

Thanks Dot - it's always great to have you out here riding. I'll do a
ride summary in a few days, we're still cleaning up and pulling
ribbons and all that post ride stuff.

I've been scoping out more trails, and next year I think I can take
you through the Hart Creek narrows, which is really awesome - it's an
old Indian burial ground, lots of artifacts, a very 'spiritual'
feeling place to ride through. I just have to clean out some brush
and figure out how to get you back up on the trail w/o too many
rocks. AND - I think we'll be able to take you through Castle Creek
Canyon (Day 1 trail was up above it for several miles) for a couple
miles. Those are huge towering canyon walls, and it would be
spectacular! I'm always looking for ways to improve the ride, and
really welcome the feedback.

Haven't seen much feed back yet, guess everyone is tired.

Lots of people, quite a few from out of area. I won't try and list
winners,
etc., plenty of pictures and results on Endurance Net.
More pictures on Steve Bradley Photography web site.

Steph and John and all their wonderful crew put on the usual great
event.
Some new, some old, trails. Plenty of water on the trails, lots of
ribbons
and signs. Food was super good.

I've been waiting at least 5 years to ride the Picket Creek Narrows
again,
it's a cool litle canyon. It was on the trail the very first year
of the
Owyhee rides, then a high water year made it impassable. Now it's
fixed!
(Any chance Hart Creek Narrows will ever be ridable?)

Good horses. good friends, great trails, fun crews, nice weather,
what more
could anyone wish for?
