Actually, it's very much the other way around, at least here. If you're
aware of a hazard and don't warn someone, then you're much more liable. If
you just don't know - say there was a hole in my yard, I didn't know, and
you stepped in it and got hurt, then it's just an accident. If you know and
don't warn, that's a big problem.

Perhaps if there's an actual attorney on the list, they can clarify.
