Re: [RC] The beaten barefoot subject, sorry guys - Donna O'GaraI've used easyboots on several different horses. If the horse has the right size and shape hoof, the boots are wonderful. The last two horses I've ridden have had wide hooves, and they wouldn't hold onto their boots at all, and believe me I tried. But before that I rode a horse that fit the boots perfectly. It took me maybe 5 minutes to boot all four, and I never lost any. Pick up the hoof, slip on the boot, tap with hammer, flip the lock. On to the next hoof. So don't assume you wouldn't have good luck with them. If the hoof is significantly wider than it's length, easyboots aren't for you. So far I'm just going bare, and I never have to trim since she wears them out as fast as they grow. But if I start doing more than 10 miles a week I'll have to figure out a plan b.
