[RC] Virginia Highlands Endurance Challenge - Tom Sites

The Virginia Highlands Endurance Challenge was held in Ivanhoe Va. near Mt. Rogers the highest elevation in Va. and along the New River.  I found out the New River is perhaps the oldest river in the world, perhaps its the Nile but one of them is.  The setting was in a beautiful field w/plenty of parking and grass for over 200 entrants.  Va. did not have a SERA sanctioned ride and Don and Nicki Meuten and their abundant staff put on a wonderful ride for 2 days of 30/30 and 55/55.  The interesting thing about the New River is that it flows north from NC. thru Va. into WVa, into the Kanawaha and then south to the Mississippi.  The fish caught were clean and beautiful unlike the scabs and dead kill found on fish these days in the Shenandoah.

It was one heck of an experience for all involved and again i thank Don and Nicki for putting on a true Endurance Event.
