Ever since the French Ride Calender was published in January there have been Gallic mutterings re the Young Rider Championships. For the first time this contest has left the endurance stronghold in the south and moved to an area most people have never heard of and to a venue which has only been in existence for three years.

However, at the end of the first day, not only is nobody complaining but the 150 riders from the eleven different regions are finding the course challenging, the atmosphere exhilerating and the organisation impeccable!

Today saw the 60k and the 90k set speed rides and at seven tomorrow 52 young riders tackle a 130k ride which will really sort the....errr,.... boys from the girls? It promises to be a really superb race and teamnellie are there to report and photograph it for you.
