Re: [RC] Ear Plugs - Dot Wiggins

Expect they work for the ear plugs but I use one now and then when the gnats are bad. Just spray bug stuff all over the crocheted ear covers, put them on, good for hours. Much easier than the regular fly masks, not so bulky. My horse is white, the cover is white, can't hardly see it, if you care (:>) And some endurance rides do have gnats on the trail.

Ok, what are those things called that hunter/jumpers use that is knit or crochet, has a tassle hanging on the forehead and covers the horse's ears? I thought those were to keep the big fuzzy earplugs in. Or are those just for froo froo appeal? Just curious. Lol Not something you would need for endurance, I'm sure. :)

Hunter/jumper types use ear plugs often. Mostly at horse shows to make life a little less distracting. But a few horses wear them all the time (when riding - take out when done riding, of course).

Expect to lose them often. But at Dover, they're cheap so it's not a huge loss:

If you need more than one, shove 2 down there. And shove them in pretty far.

It does seem to help the flightier horses settle a bit at horse shows, so might help out on trail, as well.
