RE: [RC] gait anomoly noticed any ideas? - Kitley, Carrie E Civ USAF AFSPC 30 MDSS/SGSLF

Ed -
On that note, I have not done anything about it, i.e. shoeing etc. to correct
the hind twist in my mare either and she's always been fine. I worry a lot
more about the action on the fronts. I've seen A LOT of horses that walk with
a little twist w/o any apparent probs. I have a tendency to run my shoes over
from pronating more on my left foot than the right. But I don't put lifts or
special "thingies" in my shoes because of it. LOL That would just feel really
weird.

"...that little twist of the right hind before ..."

Ranger does that with both rears all of the time. Wears his shoes out fast.
I have to armor plate the shoes to get decent wear.

My farrier's advice was not to try and fix. The fix would be OK for a show
horse, but would/could lead to strain and thus lameness. He has never shown
any lameness issues from this "fault"

Please everyone note: I am convinced that this is some sort of a
conformation problem but, he is a gelding and will not pass it on and his
other good points outweigh this problem. Besides he is my horse and has a
lifetime home at Sisu West.
