[RC] RO-HLTFBOT - Brenda Kossowan

Ahhh, free beer - even if it's the stuff you brought yourself. Well I remember sharing a six-pack of Guiness with my lovely horse, who so willingly obliged when I asked if he would mind holding his heart rate up just a bit, because I was not enjoying the ride - it was chilly and humid and the trails were so boring, they were sucking my will to live. Lovely boy that he is, he kept his HR at 60 during the check before the final loop. The vet would have passed him, but I expressed concerns that his should have dropped to 52 or 48, so he must be getting a bellyache (on my behalf). He got his 120 ccs of Guiness (two syringes of 60cc each) and I got the balance (that would be 355 cc times 6, minus 120). Grins all around. By the way, anyone who wants to know how to get beer into a syringe without making a foaming mess, I've become an expert - even with Guiness.
Of course, Endurance Riders of Alberta isn't quite so finicky about who pulled the horse or why, and I have nothing to prove, so the metabolic pull is just one more of those WWIT days. Thanks, Dr. Susan, for the wonderful acronyms.
