[RC] LD's and awards etc. - peanut2@xxxxxxx

Ok, here has been my experience of doing LD's in the NE. Primarily Maine

Entry fees are generally lower for the LD's.

I have never been to one that did a BC. Once when I asked, I was told that
the vets could not take the time away from the "real" endurance riders to
do BC for the LD which was definitely considered just a training ride.

Placings have been announced at some. No awards at some.

I have always been treated well and have never felt I was looked down on
when riding LD's. But, it has been stressed that LD's were considered
training/conditoning ride and not a competition to be raced.
