Re: [RC] LD and Placings now awards & expenses? - Nancy Sturm

I say we should all pay the same ride fee and then based on our individual needs, agenda, skill, fitness, etc make (design) for ourselves the best riding experience we can for that particular day and then be happy about it and be nice to the volunteers and especially nice to the RM who has made the endurance experience possible.

What an excellent and sensible post. I try to stay out of these LD discussions because I started distance way late (age 62) and after a broken back. I figure I'm darned lucky to be riding at all and I really don't care much about LD awards, placing, or BC. Although we've top-tenned a few times, I have never even shown for BC. As a former runner and cyclist I like the concept of training for distance and I love being in my 45th year of riding.

So now I'm going to ride my montain bike up the road and go do a training ride and celebrate the fact that I can still do both.

Nancy
