[RC] New perspective on 100/50/LD - Maryben Stover

Here is a new one.  When I was planning on doing my first 100, my friend Becky told me 100's were easier than 50's.  I did not believe that until I finished my first 100.  The pace is slower and you and your horse have more time to kick back and eat and drink.  It just was not as frenetic.  And I rode the last 45 miles by myself in the dark.  I did learn one important thing though, don't just turn your flashlight on and shine it in front of the horse.  After I got back on him (I was younger and did not break as easily then) the rest of the ride went very smoothly.............mb
