Re: [RC] Adrenaline Junkies - Betsy Thomas

Okay, so I should point out that I also have an general anxiety problem, so I can get a nice adrenaline rush from pretty minor challenges :-) My horse does threaten to back her butt into the 40 mph traffic when the tennis balls hit the fence, but so far I've managed to talk her out of it. I have no problem riding next to traffic at this point, we're used to it. There's just something horrible about that damned tennis-ball machine.

I've had her get unruly enough out there that the 40 mph traffic actually slowed down to watch, that was fun.

I should point out I ride my horse out of a barn that's primarily dressage horses, so they think I'm pretty daring... thanks for helping me realize I'm still a total wuss though. :-) I like pretending I have guts. I also pretend I ride fast even though my GPS has me averaging between 4 and 5 mph on my distance-rides.

This statement, to me, is proof positive that "adrenaline junkie" is not
the way to describe an endurance rider.

For a true adrenaline junkie, the above quoted situation wouldn't even
register on the radar screen.

Horse bolts out of control into the 40 mph traffic....

...that might do it.

Ride next to? Naaaahhhh.
