[RC] LD, 50, 100 - sherman

I might be wrong, but I believe many riders think they or their horses "may
not be ready" to do a 100, so the 2 day shows that they can do the miles,
even if there is a 12 hour rest in between. Since there aren't all that many
100 mile riders, and 50s are so popular, its easy for a newbie to come to
the conclusion that 100s might be out of reach, the 2 day 100 shows it is in
reach. Personally, I started endurance with a 100 as my goal which I'd hoped
to reach in a year or two. I get the feeling that many feel a 100 takes many
years to get to. Excuse my rambling, I think I'm tired (:>) but I do think
many riders are fearful of failure, therefore want the "proof" their horse
can do 100 before they really try it. And maybe more riders would use a 75
instead, but there aren't many around.
