RE: [RC] [RC] 10-year team awards - Kitley, Carrie - Tx Trigger

Who said anything about lower the bar? The point I was trying to make
earlier was only that it would be nice if there were similar "goal"
programs for LD's as well as 50's & 100's. Not to include LD's with 50's or
100's, etc.<<<

So, are you volunteering to set up your 10 year in LD award, send out forms
for those who qualify to fill out, go over all the forms submitted, proof
read them, double check the AERC records once submitted, and then submit the
stories to the AERC webpage? ??? THEN,are you willing to get a sponsor, or
sponsor yourself what ever award you want to give to said riders and horses?
None of these special recognition awards happen without someone stepping
forward and saying "Hey, I'd like to see a recognition for.............." .
Karen Chaton got behind the Decade Team award, because of the feeling these
horses and riders should be recognized. She helped design the standards.
Some would like the award for horses who have competed 10 years, but with
any number of riders. But it is the TEAM of the horse and rider, doing at
least one ride each year, of a distance of 50 or more miles , for ten years
that is to be recognized. If you don't like the award, step up to the plate,
and submit your own. It is that simple. Why complain about an award that
someone has done all the above, and riders have set as their own personal
goal to achieve?????? It is not looking down on LD horses and riders. It is
just not what Karen and others wanted for THEIR award.

Geezzzz, some are so sensitive. I would have never taken the fact it was for
50+ mile rides as a "slam" to those who do LD's.
