RE: [RC] Horse Quencher - Kitley, Carrie E Civ USAF AFSPC 30 MDSS/SGSLF

She does eat w/o any problem, but is hesitant to drink until we're over halfway
through a ride. I stop at every water opportunity, but she usually just plays
in it and wants to get back on the road. She does eventually drink a lot later
on in the day, but I'm trying to encourage her to drink throughout the day.
She definitely IS a great candidate for the job and has been doing it far
longer than I have. It's a job she relishes and it makes my heart smile to see
her at work in a job she loves.

Subject: [RC] Horse Quencher

I,m just an old has been, but if I were just getting into the sport knowing
what I know now I would be concerned about the fact my horse has to be
artificially induced to drink and perhaps she,s not a good candidate for the
job. The ideal endurance horse should be a willing worker, sure footed and take
good care of herself by eating & drinking. If that,s not the case you,re bound
to run into problems down the line. A horse that won,t eat & drink is either
very excited or exhausted & depressed or just depressed, which in my way of
thinking is a horse hating life. Judy
