RE: [RC] Horse Quencher - Jessica Raines

Am I the only one that just tosses a handful or 2 of beet pulp with molasses into the water? My gelding will slurp it right up and it gives him some food in the gut also.

I first purchased a sampler box last summer.  At that time Caisson didn't seem all that interested in it, so I just kept the remainder in my truck until this summer.

I tried again a few weeks ago.  This time, I read the directions :) and used two packets to a bucket (8 quart bucket), and made it up before the ride, instead of after.  Surprise!  Caisson downed the entire bucket before I was done tacking up..  He wasn't interested in more after the ride, and diluting it at all doesn't work, but he does seem to like it - he acts like it I'd a treat.  :).

I purchased a tub of the Butterscotch flavor and I did not notice a large affinity for it from my mare.  It did not induce her to drink more.. maybe another flavor would've made it more appetizing?  I now use it as a quick handful of oats-treat for her when she's behaving herself tied to my trailer. ;)
