I think that AERC is strong enough to resist this new "direction."  At least I hope so.  I certainly can't afford any kind of special outfit.  I ride in old blue jeans and a t shirt or sweat shirt.  <G>  I drive an old truck and bp trailer, so I'm certainly out of fashion, there, too.  But, I have gorgeous horses!  <LOL>
 
I do agree with Ranelle, the only "good" comment was that we can all improve our horsemanship skills, that's just a given.  We can never stop learning in that area.  An excellent rider is going to look good on a horse no matter what he or she is wearing, imho.  And no matter if they're a FW or a HW rider.
 
I spend my money on my horses, buying the best horses I can, and taking care of them the best way I can.  I am certain that I'm not alone on this.
