Hello Heidi,

My horse tested at 0.29ppm serum Se.
Is that 290ppb and isn't that a little high?

Try to maintain a diet containing at least 8-10 mg of Se per day. (On a diet with adequate quality forage, the E should take care of itself.)


Given the Se deficiency in your hay, I would not drop the Se yeast below about 4g (given the figures for the Se it contains that you've given above). That would have you supplementing 8 mg of actual selenium, which is most of the daily requirement--but that is often the case, when dealing with deficient forages.
