I'm very sorry to hear about your wreck. However, I'm glad that you  were 
not even more badly injured and glad you were wearing a  helmet so that you 
can write about the incident.

I have never liked wearing a hat of any kind and rode for nearly 40 years 
without a helmet.  Then one day I looked around the kitchen at the four 
brain-injured children we are parenting and realized how little damage our 
brains can incur and still function.  I bought my first  helmet that same 
week.
