Of course I wouldn't run it, but would take all day for two days to get his attention. Amazing how fast they grow up, when you keep them out there all day. I am also of the opinion than a couple of LDs are good to show them the all you can eat camping experience, so they know what to expect, but save the limited distance for training from home. I arranged with his office by telephone to do the exam, paying in advance with a credit card. The seller hauled him over to the clinic. I wasn't there, although I had seen and ridden the horse. The vet found him servicably sound, but asked me about my experience and warned me that although he liked the horse very much, he had quite an "edge" to him. I thought this was a highly ethical and important part of the pre-purchase of the exam. I have wished every now and then I had taken that warning and kept shopping. We completed an 11th LD yesterday at Whiskeytown. He's a real tough, handy little horse, but there is certainly still that edge.
