Re: [RC] [AERCMembersForum] Re: Diesel Prices - jamie ward

I live in southern Oregon in Grants pass. Grass is running 215 a ton even found a few that was 240 a ton!! Alfalfa is 190-210 a ton. I remember 5 year's ago we could pick up decent local grass for 90 a ton.I am sure glad I talked hubby out of getting a diesel awhile ago we went with a 1 ton F350 with a 460 motor My father (Who owns a mechanic shop) said by the time you pay for the diesel then the extra cost of parts and working on t them they do not really make out better then the gas engines any longer. except that they will go 300K+

Yesterday in Moorpark, CA the price for Diesel at the "cheapie" station
was
$4.59

Last month in Perris, CA I paid $4.29 a gallon

I am really planning things like my dog shows based on cost of getting
there.

Our Arabian Sport Horse Nationals are going to be in Nampa, ID this
year. With todays gas at $4.59 will cost me about $770 in gas for the
round trip.......... Definitely a factor.

What about hay prices folks?

Alfalfa Hay (3 string bale) is 18.95 a bale
Bermuda Grass $15.95 per bale
