[RC] re: no rides in wilderness - Cindy Collins

This has been a fact for many years. ?The '64 wilderness act banned competitive events of any kind from all designated wilderness areas. ?It's one reason so many of us fought new wilderness legislation. ?The Tevis was grandfather'd in by an act of Congress and they are VERY lucky cause if it came up today, I imagine they'd lose the trail. ?The BH 100 went through a small corner section of the Cloud Peak wilderness and was de facto grandfather'd in by previous USFS supervisors. ?Sadly, several years ago a new supervisor came in and banned the ride from that gorgeous section of trail after 30+ years of use by the ride. ?That has caused many of the trail problems in recent years.
