[RC] Hawk the Mighty Morgan makes it to 5000 MILES! - Charles Coleman
Hawk just finished the last 50 he will ever
have to! He is retiring sound with 5000 AERC miles and we have become the latest
decade team.
The weather was great all the predictions of
rain in New Jersey were wrong at least for Saturdays ride. Temps were in
the low 50s although we had to strip at the holds to meet the pulse no sponging
was needed ideal Morgan weather.
My good friend Patty Stedman picked us up
she bought her 100 mile horse Ned to accompany Hawk around on his journey
through the sand. Ned was not too impressed with the speed (or lack thereof) as
we finished all but last. Another friend Zoe came to crew along with cake to be
shared by all the awards dinner.
It was a great weekend and it has been
very much an honor to have competed such a lasting durable horse. Morgan
