Not necessarily. ? I would bet that not all heart problems have symptoms which can be picked up in a standard vet-in. ? There was a horse that dropped dead in an endurance ride I was at, many years ago. ?If I recall correctly, it was a veteran horse / rider combination, and it happened within the first few miles of the start. ?

I also knew of a horse at a riding stable that was used for little kids. ?He was sent out on a 1-hour ride, was walking along, and suddenly took off, ran down a hill, collapsed and died. ?Best we could figure was a heart attack.
