What breed are your LGDs?
Laney

The best preditator protection in my book is a good team of LGD (large, guaridan dogs). I've heard too many stories of donkey's that don't work out, tossing lambs and kids around. Donkey's can work for a while and then get a bad attitude and cause problems. We have 3 LGD now and have not lost anything to preditators in the 4 yrs we've had them, previously loosing a full sized goat to a cougar. I had foals in the pasture also at that time and totally flipped out and immediately got 2 LGD. The dogs not only stay with the herd goats/horses, but help with kidding, will walk a misplaced kid to it's mother, hundle with them when it is cold and NOTHING gets in my pasture without their permission. I did see a coyote in my pasture this winter.......running for it's life with 3 LGD's chasing it, it finally found a place to jump out. Donkey's are o.k but if you really have herding type of animals sheep, cattle, goats a Good Guardian Team is worth their weight in gold!
