When I was a wee one, our family cat got shot with a BB gun by a
neighbor.  My younger brother and I found her dead in the yard, and my
Mother cried for days.  Our neighbor shot our cat because we reported
their Dalmation to to the authorities because it tried to eat my brother
and I one day when my Dad was taking us for a wagon ride.  Luckily, he
took the brunt of the damage, but that dog was out for blood.  The dog
was euthanized, and so the neighbort thought it only fair to kill our
beloved cat.

I guess that's why "an eye for an eye" doesn't always work...
