Re: [RC] Fw: [RC-Digest] Vol: 03.4665 - Barbara McCrary

We use galvanized steel livestock panels...very heavy, but doable with two people or one VERY strong person. Our experience on the Death Valley ride many years ago, when the wild burros came off the desert at night to clean up hay, was enough to convince us that no flimsy, lightweight, or otherwise questionable fencing was going to work for us. The horses were bouncing, literally, off the wall of the trailer and off the panels of the fencing, and had the panels not been as strong and stable as they were, we would never have found our horses in a million years. We're sticking to steel livestock panels...period.

Not trying to start anything up either but I respectfully have to disagree
with this statement. While I agree that it is safer than a lot of the really
lightweight portable corrals, I don't agree that it is safer than a good
"sort of heavy", sturdy steel panel. I have seen my fair share of buckles
and halters broken when tied. Just my 2 cents.

They are so much safer than any type of portable corral.
