Re: [RC] [RC] Fred Emigh was Pres Cup question ??? - Maryben Stover

And before someone gets all excited about how many horses Fred has ridden, he is a trainer and a lot of them belong to clients.  His had a stallion named Mon Surbo who was around in the 70's...........mb

Who is    Frederick Moser Emigh ?   He is listed as riding for the US.   I

selection process to earn him a spot to ride for the USA overseas?  Can
anyone who just shows up overseas get to ride for the USA? Did he win the
Old Dominion,  Tevis, or the AERC NC to earn him this honored spot among
elite riders in the US?   What happed to the other riders who undertook time
money heart and guts to ride for the "US -   how come,   Jeremy, Betty,

Not sure why you could not find his record Patti. (the link is below) Fred
has been a name around endurance forever. Rides out West.  And I'm sure
someone can correct me, but this is an FEI event that anyone can enter. Just
like 20 Mule team was earlier this month, and we had some British riders
come over to ride there. I don't think anyone had to go through a "tough 2
years of our selection process to earn him a spot to ride".  Step had posted
earlier this week that this is the only 160km ride on the UAE calendar, and
in order to compete at the championship level,  riders and horses needed to
obtain a 'certificate of capability' or 'COC' by completing a  within a
certain time frame. (forgot what it was). Of course, it is also a big money
event, which would be attractive to a few. So yes Patti, I bet you could
have entered the ride too.  (even if Fred had never hear of you either
<wink>)

Here is his record if you are curious:
