RE: [RC] [RC] safety vests for riders? - Juli Jakub

Tipperary vests are approved I believe...it is also the vest of choice for Olympic event riders...I trust them as they are going way fast at very large solid objects...it is what I used when I evented high level and I can guarantee it saved my ribs a couple of times. Whatever works I suppose, but I trust myself to Tiperrary they are the best in the business when it comes to vests as far as the eventers are concerned. I also find them comfortable and I have never felt particularly uncomfortably hot in them although admittedly I have never ridden long distances in one either...just the cross country course. Cheers,
Juli

I have a Flex Rider vest. Bought it for training youngsters, did wear it at one ride when my ribs were a little tender from a recent fall. Didn't want to re-injure them. It was not expensive, $90 at Dover Saddlery. I bought this one because it is ASTM and SEI approved. As far as I can tell, none of the Tipperary are either ASTM or SEI approved.
