[RC] [RC] Horse question... (really long) - Burnett, Elly - Maureen A. Fager

Hello Elly,

I was just wondering if you have had your vet check your horse. A second opinion may be a good idea and your vet can give you current information on your horse's condition.

If you feel nervous about getting an arab for endurance, don't get one. Starting out from a place of fear is not a good place to start. There are lots of different breeds in endurance that do well: Quarter horses, appaloosas, standarbred, Morgans, Tennesse Walkers, Foxtrotters, the list goes on. Crossbreds are out there too; Arabs crossed with everything and the grandest cross of all, the mustang. And mules, lots of mules in endurance too.

If you search the archives, this issue has been discussed before. In my view, it is important that whatever horse you choose, it is one that matches *your* temperment, skill level and confidence level. Horses of this type can be found in every breed.

Best of luck,
Maureen
