[RC] Shoeing question - experiences with clips and hot fitting - Sandra Bartsch

I am currently looking for a new farrier and tried a new guy who my vet recommended yesterday.
He uses shoes with clips, and when I asked him about it, he gave me a reasonable explanation:
He likes using less nails (6 instead of 8) and to compensate he uses shoes with clips.
Some of my endurance friends are extremely opposed to clips. Now, I am extremely confused about
the issue. My question: Does anyone of you have experiences with clips and hot fitting for that matter? Any input,
positive or negative will be appreciated.
