Geez! Here I am on super slippery clay with the horse's rear end going out from under him every time we get faster than a walk. :-P Can you give me any advice on why my "tracks" distance is shorter than my odometer distance every time? At times it appears that the mapping program cuts cross country to join two dots. Much of the track looks accurate, then there will be a section that isn't out there at all. My spaghetti bowl trails between tall ridges are probably a worst case scenario for a GPS...and I'm changing directions on the same trails often.

?Also, on the privacy of trails theme. In my case I'm allowed to ride on a 1200 acre farm that is private property. I don't want to risk some kid with a 4 wheeler seeing these trails and using this program to find them. Should I check the box "friends only" can view...and if so how do you get to it?

Come to Las Cruces next Christmas! You too could be riding in perfect footing on the banks of the Rio Grande (albeit in a populated area:(

q1) the accuracy of the GPS track can be enhanced if you pull it into google earth and fix-up your trail. Of course you would be dropping back to the HandDrawn division with the rest of us ludites! Beyond that, I refer you to either Rusty (who does ALOT of this) or Lucy (Who does it EVEN more!!) or April (who is the goddess of all things GPS!)

q2: Privacy. There are two aspects of this, but yes, you should restrict access to only your friends!! I'll have to become one of your friends to able to view it of course. (I assume this is a motionbased friendship so I'm not sure the HandDrawns can be friends with the GPSs (except through the vetCard or my-endurance.net. (also, see the answer to q1 as we may both become HandDrawns and by custom and local convention may acceptably become friends!

But if you are talking about privacy on MotionBased.com, well I haven't a clue and will need to defer to experts!!
