Re: [RC] Ridecamp and Reno - Linda Marins

Might I suggest that those who are going to upcoming convention in Reno wear a note on your shirt/blouse identifying yourself as “Ridecamper.”  It would really be neat to meet folks in person who we’ve only known through Ridecamp. --Dave

A button bearing an
@

sign does the trick.  It was originally used (dating from at least the early
80's and maybe even late 70's (I can't remember if pre-TCP-IP email
addresses had @ signs in them)) so that contributors to the great old
sf-lovers ArpaNet newsgroup could recognize one another at science fiction
conventions.

Take a good look at www.endurance.net  See the @ sign in the upper left banner?
What's it doing there?  John T is an old MIT, Goldhill Lisp guy.  Dunno if
he's an old sf-lover, but he knows it from somewhere!
