[RC] Black Water Boogie-eating contest - Jody Rogers-Buttram

Well, now that we are home and had a real shower, horses had 3 hours or so to walk around in the pasture (except Cash, he has to trot around and declare to the world he is home)   then be put into the barn for feed and to rest in out of the rain tonight, I had time to type.
First off, YES, this was a great weekend.  If you haven't been to this ride, GO next year.  Wonderful camp, great trails, NO deep sand, NO rocks, plenty of water on the trail and just plain fun to ride.  Awards were better then better, and the food and management were also top of the heap.   If we all beg and plead, Christina just *might* give us a 100.  This would be the best trail for an easy first 100 for horse or rider.....so if you want it, let her know.  I WANT IT  !!!!

Weekend went really well for me and Joni.  Didn't have Joel there to crew, and we had our hands full with camping and crewing for 4 horses in two rides, the 75 miler and the 50 the next day.  Having the snotty Cash Pony along for the ride doesn't  make life any easier either.  But we pulled it off great, and never left a VC late....that doesn't happen very often either.
Had a hard time getting Truman to believe me that Cash really is the demonic pony that I claim he is, but I am glad to see that maybe he is starting to see the monster in him now.  Truman, just ask Christo....he came over during the BC judging to help me and Joni hold him still so that Otis could do the exam.  He was all over the place....but Christo is bigger than Cash, so Cash was out done on that challenge.   THANKS Christo  !!!!

Now, on to the real challenge.   Booger VS 7 in an eating constest.   Lets just say, that Booger can eat three BIG feed pans of beet pulp and beg for more in about 20 mins.  He throws the apples and carrots our and dives in to the beet pulp....just the opposite of what a normal horse will do.  I think that a horse that has been starved has more respect for what is placed in front of him...and he just says, "Eat it while it's here....I may never get any again".  Booger did a great job, finished stronger the second half of the ride than the first.  But, he isn't the snotty pony that Joni's other pony horse is.....thank goodness  !!!!

So....bring it on Angie and 7....Delightful Trails in January would be a good first eating match...that is IF you get 7 up to speed with Booger.

We will put together some stats on the two....so as to make the betting easier.

Jody
