[RC] Is Beet Pulp Toxic To Horses? The Real Story - sherman

My horses have been getting beet pulp for around 4 years now, all have
strong rear ends (14.1H Sonny's rear end is like a linebacker's butt), 2
of the horses are barefoot and have tough, strong hooves, the shod horse
has strong hooves as well, stifles are strong, all have high
(controllable) energy levels, slick shiny coats when shed out and nice
warm fuzzy coats right now, nice moist stools that are loose only on the
trail, I think it's called the "trots" (:>)

All my horses also have non-irrigated seasonal pasture, 24 hr turn-out,
3 types of hay to pick at 24/7, and a selenium supplement. Maybe some
horses don't do well with beet pulp, or maybe something else is causing
the problems?

I am not anti beet pulp, but this describes my horses conditon before I
stopped "regularly" feeding beet pulp.

Does my horse feel weak in the hind end?
. Are his hooves brittle?
. Does it seem like his stifles are weak?
. Does my horse appear to be lacking energy?
. What about the coat? Is it dull?
. Does my horse have loose stools? Are his stools loose or hard?
