I remember that a study has been done in France, maybe two years ago, trying to
correlate elimination factors for metabolic and horses needing treatment.
I will have a look and post the results of the study. I remember that the
duration of the journey to reach the venue was determining.

We are all speculating.
It would be very interesting to see the statistics on
the horses that have require treatment.
I'm sure the Horse Welfare Committee maintains records
on how may horses require treatment every year.
Truman or someone else goo with numbers should be able
to correlate the riders name with their AERC record,
ride distance, region or etc. I've seen similar
analysis on the pull rates by distance and region.
This would put to rest the argument about if LD riders
are more or less responsible that endurance riders.
