Re: [RC] Rule Change Proposal, questions - Beth Walker

Good questions -- I am answering on ridecamp, since I think others might want to comment.

Prehistoric times ... good question. I've got more than 3 LDs and 1 50 from back in those days. I don't know. I would be tempted to say, yeah - start over, simply because there have been a lot of changes in the meantime.

I would think that if you can show CTR experience by some means, the requirement could be waived. Mind you - right now, the only "proof" is what the rider says. I didn't want to start a whole tracking effort unless the general feeling was that it would be worth it. We don't do that now for new riders/horses.

This proposal is for the rider only at this point. I'm going on the assumption that a caring and experienced rider is going to have the experience to rate a new or young horse according to its abilities. Might be a fallacy. Comments?

What about people who have done AERC rides in the prehistoric times? Do they have to start over?
What about folks with lots of CTR experience? Are they Novices too? Is this just for the rider or does it apply to each horse too?
