Interestingly enough, this means that rides COULD (and still be in
compliance with the rules) have a second rider (or their dog for that
matter) be part of their "total rider weight" but have that
self-ambulatory thing go along on the ground along side for pretty much
the entire ride.

 
I meant for competing in a  AERC event. Other then that i have rode double with my kid's allot i did a poker ride with my 6 yr old a few year's ago but i was saying i wouldn't do it at a endurance ride but heck if other's want to .... You did give me a great new  argument for hubby on why i should be able to get a little dog for hubby ... " But it's part of my tack!"
