Re: [RC] HRM Electroyde Slipping - Drin Becker

Truman ,
I have always used the Aloe Vera Jell and I ride with a thick coolback pad , nothing under it , I could never use my Dixie Midnight pad on this horse either as it really seemed to bother him . I never had this problem with my V-Max HRM . I am wondering if some of it is the way this horse moves , he has a higher knee action than my mare had ??

Drin,

The only time I had ever had an issue with an electrode slipping is when I was using a supracor for awhile. The front electrode would work it way out the front. As far the white hairs on the Hell Bitch if I used a fairly salty solution - like what normally comes with the units - to pre-wet them it she would get white hair. When I threw that stuff away and went with Aloe Vera Gel or or just good old fashion "spit" no more white hairs.

I am having a problem with the electrode that goes under the saddle near the withers , my horse is getting some white hairs where the electrode sits and I am wondering if anyone else has had this problem and how they fixed it ? My HRM is a Polar with the bigger electrode surface and I am wondering if a person could cut out an area on their pad to kind of recess it in a little bit ? This same HRM is no problem on my other horse but this horse is really sensitive , my saddle fits very well on him although when I ride with a looser cinch the electrode moves quite allot and I am constantly having to replace it under the saddle . I believe the V-Max has the smaller electrodes and was wondering if anyone has had any problems with them slipping around on them ?
