The first kind, me included, believe that consciousness creates genes, not the other way around. "Bible" on this subject is "The Self-Aware Universe: How Consciousness Creates the Physical World" by physics prof, parapsychologist, and Vedic scholar Amit Goswami, PhD. The latter kind believe that consciousness/thinking is a product (epiphenomenon) of the physical brain. There is no soul or higher power. I would submit that there are a lot more kinds of people than that (and a lot more variations than that), actually...
