Re: [RC] Which breed is best? - Nancy SturmHI Jon, I always love to hear from someone who is competing on Standardbreds. I'm trying to remember - don't you and your son send some to the track? So, tell me more about pacing and trotting. Our Twist (lifetime earnings $1008) paced at the track, paces in harness and has learned to trot under saddle, mostly. His trot, however, has a very awkward, undeveloped feel to it. In fact, when we first bought him, I kept forgetting his name and wanted to call him "lurch". Is this because he just hasn't trotted enough miles? He's a great horse and may be headed for a career as a therapy horse for our disabled daughter. I don't think he has the heart/energy to be an endurance horse.
