[RC] Hoof Pads-ShockTamers and Luwex - Roger Rittenhouse

I have used and yes - sold both of these pads.

I used SHOCKTAMERS full pad for over 15 year and many 1000 miles. I used them at most rides in the NE as well as the OD100/50.
A great pad. I sometimes packed but most of the time let the pad conform to the hoof and frog.
If you need to pack I recommend Vettec.

They were sold to a company in England.
The Shocktamers pads are now imported back to the USA.

I have them in stock.

I only recommend the full pad. You can cut the very center gray area out over the frog but not the black area.

I did not care for the SHOCKTAMER RIM Pads way to flexible.
I prefer the LUWEX RIM pads. I use these all the time unless I need the full pad protection.

I was just informed the LUWEX full mesh pads are on the way to me.
I have both sizes.

I switched to these pads because of the mesh bottom. The sole would breath better. Plus you can washout the dirt with a hose.
If the ride was really rocky, I would pack with Vettec.

I think the Shocktamer pad does offer shock protection. I can tell by the way my horse travels on the hard pack roads.

I have never lost a shoe because of the pad. In fact I rarely loose a shoe between sessions... If the shoer is good, the shoe will stay on - pad or no pad.
