Glenda,

For years I rode in a Skyhorse (Skyrider) saddle. It worked great, then I got a horse with a much shorter, wider back, and it did not fit him. It felt wierd to me at first to be so "high centered", but after awhile I did not notice it.

I now ride in a Bandos, the new treeless and both my horse and I love it. I realize treeless is not for everyone though.

Here I am once again on The Great Saddle Hunt. I have a new mare that I know will be a fabulous endurance horse, but her back has changed radically in the 7 months I've owned and ridden her, and suddenly we have a big saddle fit problem!

So here's my question to all of you: I personally require a very narrow twist seat, but April needs a wide tree, and I like having a pommel. Past experience tells me this combo is very hard to find, and I don't want to go treeless.

So what can any of you recommend? I am looking at a flex panel saddle by R. L. Watson (I think this is the old Rocking R brand) but I am concerned about the "up in the air" feeling of flex panel saddles. Anyone have experience with this?
