Costs, unless you know the mix ratio, which I don't. Much better as in, regular water is to some extent counter-productive. But mine have been all most injury free for 7 years . (except eyes so I know those)-- Well it hasn't rained here in the dust bowl in so long my young Quarab forgot not to canter uphill on a double slope on the wrong lead in Georgia mud. I and old horse were walking up the hill so I sort of waved him off, me or a tree or the fence. His legs went out from under him in the mud,and when I looked him over after getting mud off He had a 4 long by inch gash where all the skin is off I got my neighbor dog vet tech to help and we hosed and cleaned it up and I put "derma gel" on. Turnout is muddy, but no more rain expected. It is on the front of his stifle , Stitching doesn't seem viable as it is going to open up as he moves so I know I should treat it like an open wound. She said if it were a dog ,they'd stitch and put a drain in , cause you could get a pocket under the skin for infection... but I know with horses you usually can't stitch on a joint area, I have Nitrufurazone, Wonder dust, and Derma gel. I have betadine and Providine scrubs to clean with.
